Organisms are different when it comes to illness, they are also different when it comes to pregnancy. Some women will only gain a few pounds, will have no stretch marks and will quickly regain a girl’s body. Others will get heavier, keep their stomachs, have a sagging muscle and see their chest sag. Every pregnancy is different, but what is certain is that having carried one, two, three or four children does not produce the same effects on the body. So, to reconcile with their silhouette and regain their femininity, some women decide to resort to plastic surgery. It is an important decision, which represents a significant cost. First watchword: do not rush and wait at least 6 months minimum before considering a cosmetic surgery intervention. We must give the body time to recover from this extraordinary marathon of pregnancy and childbirth.

Liposuction

Pregnancy stretches the tissues of the abdomen and leads to weight gain which is sometimes difficult to get rid of, despite sports and weight loss diets. For, it is therefore possible to consider liposuction. It is the most practiced procedure and by far the simplest. Performed under general or local anesthesia (for small areas), this procedure removes localized fat in the stomach, hips, thighs or saddlebags. Note: the surgeon cannot act on the areas where there are stretch marks. In principle, it is advisable to have regained a weight as close as possible to normal before doing liposuction, even if in practice we can hope to lose up to 5 or 6 kg thanks to this operation. Safe intervention, liposuction currently benefits from well-established techniques but it must be performed by a cosmetic surgeon. It will not interfere with a future new pregnancy.

If the skin is damaged and the abdominal muscles are relaxed, it is also possible to perform an abdominoplasty. This will remove the excess skin, reposition the muscles and tighten the skin covering. It’s a rather heavy and longer operation, it is not advisable to perform it if you want a new pregnancy quickly. An abdominoplasty can also correct an umbilical hernia.

Mammary plasties

Women may also have recourse to a mammary plasty if the breasts have suffered from pregnancy and / or breastfeeding and if they present, for example, ptosis, ie sagging. Most of the time, a loss of volume is added to the ptosis. We therefore proceed to a ptosis correction, associated with a breast augmentation with the in order to give a nice curve to the breast. Otherwise, if the breast falls and its volume is too large, the surgeon performs a breast reduction. This operation is covered by social security under certain conditions. On the other hand, when the size of the breasts is satisfactory, it is not necessary to add volume with a foreign body. The surgeon will simply opt for a correction of breast ptosis. Note: any breast operation must be performed after the end of breastfeeding.

What about future breastfeeding? Breast prostheses do not interfere with an upcoming pregnancy or breastfeeding. On the other hand, breast reduction, when it is important, can shrink the gland and cause damage to the milk ducts, which can sometimes interfere with future breastfeeding. Better to know.
