What is the best way to serve champagne

The main drink of the New Year’s table – sparkling wine – is not demanding in appetizers. Still, there are some rules for serving champagne. Depending on the appetizer, the champagne will reveal its taste in different ways.

Cheese

Cheese is a great appetizer for champagne and regular wine. Due to the democratic prices, cheese is also the most common product that accompanies sparkling wines. The sweeter the wine, the more original and rich the taste of the cheese should be. Dry champagne goes well with brie or camembert.

Seafood

Dry and semi-dry champagne goes very well with fish and sushi. Fish can be lightly salted or low-fat fried. When cooking fish or seafood, do not use vinegar or lemon juice – these ingredients will ruin the taste of the champagne.

Sandwiches

Traditionally, sandwiches with red or black caviar are prepared for the New Year – this is an excellent accompaniment to brut champagne. You can experiment with fruits – a sandwich with pineapple, cheese and oranges, for example.

Nuts

A mixture of nuts also goes well with champagne – lightly toasted almonds, raw walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews.

Meat

Cold appetizers can be prepared from meat, it is enough to marinate, and then boil or fry a juicy piece. Meat can be served with fruit sauce, which also goes well with wine. The classic meat snack is duck baked with apples.

Dessert

As a fruit dessert for champagne, it is customary to serve strawberries, apples and pastries with these fruits. Also, wine goes well with ice cream, pudding or cake. The main thing is that these dishes are free of lemon and caffeine.
