The Salón de Gourmets de Madrid returns for its 28th Edition

The Salon de Gourmets is the largest European event dedicated exclusively to delicatessen products, the most important annual showcase of high-end food and beverages.

Professionals from the United States, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, China … plus a representation of Swiss, French, Dutch, Czech, Danish, Finnish or Belgian, give this fair the international character it has held since 1992, recognition granted by the Secretary of State for Commerce. People and products from all over the world meet at this benchmark event for quality food and beverages.

The Hall of Gourmets, whose Committee of Honor is chaired by His Majesty King Juan Carlos I since 2006, receives the visit of ambassadors, councilors from different Autonomous Communities and other personalities who attend officially or privately during the four fair days. More than a thousand exhibitors show around 30.000 products each edition, 1.000 novelties arousing the attention of professionals who come to visit the Show, the largest showcase for discovering new trends.

As an activity to highlight this El Taller de los Sentidos Gourmets, which was born with the purpose of introducing non-professional visitors to the knowledge of the world of food, an initiative that had an excellent reception and has been favored by the public from the first edition.

Look, smell, touch, savor, harmonize … The different workshops scheduled in this exclusive space invite the public to discover most of the delicatessen products on display in the Show.

Different tunnels, workshops and corners – of wine, bread, beer, olive oil, cheese, vegetables, fruit, etc., – overlook the Plaza de los Sentidos, a space conceived as an agora where they concentrate all activities.

Visitors have the possibility of attending theoretical-practical sessions related to the basic foods of the Mediterranean diet; a staff of experts in the different subjects explain the theory of food, the production systems and the dietary benefits of its consumption; the talks are complemented with live elaborations, tastings and harmonies between food and drinks.

Within the Workshop of the Gourmets Senses, but on a separate schedule, the little ones attend different Children’s Workshops where they become familiar with food and learn by playing the basic principles of a healthy diet.
