Madrid Food&Drink Summit 2015

With the slogan “The world, what’s next?”, The annual event of the Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (FIAB) arrives in Madrid 

Madrid Food&Drink Summit It is a sectoral meeting, where the main actors in the world of food and beverages, meet on this day to reflect and discuss the future of the sector.

This year the third edition is celebrated, and it will have the participation of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Isabel Garcia Tejerina and European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan.

Both will open the day with a broad vision of the role that administrations and regulations will play in the development of the food sector and its expansion outside the borders of the EU.

The national companies, producers, packers or distributors, await the meeting, to finish designing their marketing and export strategies, as a source of growth that we see as necessary after several years of recession.

The open-mindedness and the international market are already a necessity, so that in this global market, our companies and brands compete as equals with those of the rest of the planet.

The World. What’s next? Internationalization as present.

The growth in the national trade balance in the field of exports was around 6% in 2014, and for the data of 2015 it is intended to consolidate and increase it.

Not surprisingly, our country is the sixth largest exporting economy in Europe and our share is around 7,5% of the community share, with our agri-food industry inside and outside the country being of special relevance.

For all this, the organization has the best ambassador of our gastronomy in the USA, it is about José Andrés, the Spanish chef who established his residence on the other side of the Atlantic, to initiate an entrepreneurial and informative work of the Mediterranean culture in gastronomy and the excellence of our products to be able to carry it out.
