Lamps that were invented by a genius or a madman: 20 unreal photos

This vintage lamp can beautify any interior. Or, conversely, hopelessly ruin it.

There is a group in social networks with the self-explanatory name “Weird hand-held purchases that are impossible not to share“. There, people post pictures of the most curious things bought in second-hand shops, at garage sales and fairs, from advertisements or even found somewhere on the sidelines. And a separate group of photos in this group is lamps. Lamps, sconces, chandeliers, floor lamps – all this is so unusual, strange and magnificent from this that you want to immediately buy something like that and bring it home. But here’s the catch – you can’t find such beauty in a regular store.

A glowing globe with a map of the constellations or a dragon night light with folded wings in a lampshade; a forged rose enclosed in an ordinary glass lamp, or a floor lamp in the shape of a seahorse as tall as a man – the design of these lamps is simply amazing. What a fantasy the people who invented them had! Who would ever think that a UFO night light or a glowing whale lamp is a good idea?

Often people say that they have literally found real treasures in the garbage. For example, a girl from a broken plafond from a street lamp made a masterpiece: she glued the plafond, polished it, put Christmas garlands inside – it turned out very unusual. “I can’t even believe that he was broken,” they write in the comments.

Another lucky woman boasted a night light in the form of … a giant pear. “I found it on the street, the lamp was in perfect condition. It even had a light bulb, and a working one. My night light often burns around the clock, and the light bulb still works! ” – the owner of the miracle pear is delighted with her unusual find.

A multi-colored mushroom, a medieval castle, a rotary dial telephone, a bonsai carved from a piece of solid wood, an octopus, a woman riding a dolphin – what you can not find here. We have selected some of the most amazing lamps that will seem to some to be works of art, and to others – a product of the fantasy of a madman.
