How to properly store spices

Spices are herbal spices without chemical additives. They reveal their taste and aroma only during heat treatment, and therefore require a special way of storage in tightly closed glass jars, in a dry, dark place.

You need to store chili, paprika, red pepper in the refrigerator – this way they will retain their vigorous color. Unmilled spices are stored for up to 5 years, chopped, alas, only 2. Store natural vanilla (not sugar) in glass, otherwise it will lose all its aromas.

Spices do not like moisture very much, so keep them away from the sink and hot stove.

Remember:

– it is better to grind spices not on a wooden board, it will absorb the aromas of spices for a long time; the budget option is plastic, the ideal is porcelain or marble.

– spices are cut very quickly, as they lose their aroma with every second.

– spices will not get worse if you mix them – do not be afraid of culinary experiments!
