3 reasons to make a homemade shower gel

It is true that embarking on the production of a homemade shower gel may seem secondary when you know the plethora of commercial offers. However, the various studies on the composition of shower gels regularly question their safety. Preservatives, synthetic fragrances, all these chemicals are indeed questionable.

Avoid allergies and health risks with a homemade shower gel

Shower gels are one of the cosmetic products that generate more and more mistrust: carcinogenic preservatives or endocrine disruptors, the list is unfortunately very long. The danger of these substances is a reality regularly denounced by consumer associations.

When parabens, previously widely used preservatives, were blamed for their supposed health risks, manufacturers had to replace them, not always with success. This was particularly the case with methylisothiazolinone, a very allergenic preservative.

In addition, consumer tastes for perfumes have led manufacturers to create more and more ranges of shower gels with surprising scents. To achieve such results, perfumes are obviously synthetic. This is not without a problem for sensitive people.

However, turning to organic shower gels is not a solution that preserves risks 100% unfortunately. As independent studies have shown, allergens are present in organic shower gels and come directly from plant molecules.

Making your own shower gel is therefore not a guarantee against allergies. But integrating ingredients yourself at least allows you to know and limit any allergens.
