What are frostbite?

 

Frostbite are swollen purplish spots, sitting at the ends, preferably at the feet, accompanied by edema and itching, occurring during theexposure to cold or humidity. 

Risk factors 

Age

Frostbite most often occurs in young adult or during adolescence.

Sex

It exists clear predominance of women.

Season

They only occur in wet and cold period and demonstrations disappear with the return of sunny days

Associated factors

We often note a context of Raynaud’s syndrome (bleaching some fingers in the cold) oracrocyanose (easily purple hands) in 80% of cases.
