PSYchology

Following the author of the theory of attachment John Bowlby, Canadian psychologist Gordon Neufeld believes that a child needs nothing more for his development than a secure and reliable attachment to a parent. But it is not formed automatically, and not all children manage to achieve emotional and psychological intimacy with a significant adult.

About how parents can apply this theory in practice, very accessible, using recognizable examples, says Neufeld’s student, German psychologist Dagmar Neubronner. She explains why children need dependence on an adult, what explains their fears and bad behavior. Knowing these patterns, we can consciously build our mutual affection day by day.
