Throat in danger: how to help yourself?
Throat in danger: how to help yourself?Throat in danger: how to help yourself?

When you write, your wrists sag, when you talk, your throat. Of course, you can change your profession and not write, not talk, not do anything that strains our body. You can…? However, there is probably no job that in the long run would not result in any injuries. If a person who makes a living from speaking, for whom a healthy throat is an absolute value, the voice refuses to obey, he seeks the help of a phoniatrist. When a trivial throat infection joins an occupational disease, he looks for help in good lozenges that will quickly relieve pain, burning, pinching and other types of unpleasant sensations associated with the presence of malicious microbes in the mouth and throat.

Quickly, precisely, sensibly

Throat surgery must be done quickly and precisely. In order for the viral infection not to turn into a bacterial one and there is no need to administer an antibiotic, we must seal the throat mucosa as soon as possible – if the viruses penetrate further into our body and, in addition, open the access for bacteria, a systemic infection will appear and then staying in bed will be unavoidable . Time matters. At this stage of infection, it is worth implementing all known ways to fight pharyngitis. If we are at work, we do not wait to come home – we reach for lozenges containing antiseptic substances, e.g. Inovox tablets. Express anesthesia and immediate antiviral and antibacterial action will ensure that when we finally get home, the throat will be in a decent condition. It will not be like an open wound preventing us from undertaking any activity. Our well-being will be bearable enough that we will be able to take further actions to improve our health.

Note: before we reach for additional medications or dietary supplements after returning home, let’s check the composition of the pills sucked by us during the day. In no case should we reach for specifics that have the same composition! Excessive accumulation of the active substance in the body can harm us.

Therefore, we are not guided by the trade name and we are not under the illusion that the more lozenges we suck, the faster the throat condition will return to normal. Rather, we include additional neutral substances in our treatment plan, such as saline or hydrogen peroxide. The first one is ideal for a piston inhaler – alternatively, we use ordinary brine, i.e. water with salt – making the throat mucosa (already slightly dry from all-day sucking of lozenges) moisturized and less tender and less susceptible to further attacks by microbes. In turn, hydrogen peroxide is recommended for gargling. This method outclasses ordinary rinses made of brine, herbs (sage, chamomile – note: they can cause allergies) or dissolved aspirin. Both neutral ingredients – saline and hydrogen peroxide – will bring some relief. However, this does not mean that the inflammation has disappeared. He just lurked, but we already feel tolerable enough to implement further therapeutic measures. Of course Inovox tabletsif they have been really helpful, we can continue to suck according to the instructions on the leaflet.

Don’t rush!

If the sore throat intensifies, a cough and an elevated temperature join it, we must carefully observe what is happening. This is still not a reason to reach for an antibiotic. A throat infection usually lasts a few days. Our actions bring the intended effect, but we cannot destroy them at this stage of the infection: it is better to stay at home for a few days. It is likely that the infection will pass without unnecessary complications. And when do complications arise? When our body is overloaded and the immune system does not respond to the support described above. Whether we like it or not, rest is essential. A “going” throat infection will eventually give up, but the effects of doing so are not worth the price. A few days on L4 is the minimum price for not getting our joints or heart sick. These are the two places where flu-like infections strike most willingly when allowed to linger. Inflammation of the throat seems to us a nagging, but trivial ailment. It’s ONLY a throat, we think. It is worth realizing that the condition of our mucous membranes – not only in the throat, but also in the stomach and intestines – largely determines our immunity. Mucous membranes are like gates protecting our body from the invasion of viruses and bacteria. If they are infected, dry, damaged, it is not difficult to get sick again. Antiseptic Inovox tablets Therefore, they may prove to be the first aid in the fight for a relatively efficient functioning of the immune system. The news that has been circulating in the world media for some time that immunity definitely comes from the intestines and that the mucous membrane barrier is crucial in the functioning of the immune system leaves no illusions – ignoring the ailments related to the mucous membranes is cruel.

Reading comprehension

When reaching for throat pills, always read the leaflets. The modernized composition of many preparations makes our body come into contact with many substances for the first time. Therefore, we must check the dosage method, the frequency of use, and the composition. Some medications may not be suitable for pregnant women or patients taking other medications on a regular basis. It may happen that ordinary lozenges contain an active substance that makes us allergic or makes us feel bad. Even the availability of such drugs or supplements at gas stations or at supermarket checkouts should not deceive our vigilance. Particular care should be taken when we want to give the drug to a child under the age of twelve. We must also remember that all throat lozenges are emergency medications and are intended to be taken for no longer than 5 days. If during this time, despite the use of all the above-mentioned treatments, our health does not improve, we need to see a doctor. Rhinoviruses and coronaviruses responsible for most throat inflammations sometimes need to be treated a bit harder than with a lozenge …
