Third wave of coronavirus begins in South Korea

Yoon Tae Ho, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea, recently spoke at a press briefing. His news was not encouraging at all.

In the capital, Seoul, the third wave of coronavirus infection has begun.

Yun Tae Ho noted that over the past day, 218 new cases of infection were detected. This is the highest figure since August.

In total, 363 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the country during this period, and the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 30 people.

In this regard, Prime Minister Jong Se Kyung called on citizens to “show responsibility and refrain from holding mass events,” including New Year’s parties and festivities.

“If we cannot reduce the rate of spread of the infection now, our still relatively calm daily life will again face significant restrictions,” the politician said.

In Russia, meanwhile, 24 cases were detected in the last day, of which 318 were in Moscow (this is a new record for the entire pandemic).

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin says victory over coronavirus is not far off. “Victory over the pandemic is close, and then such things as the ability to be examined closer to home and the comfort of seeing a doctor will again become important for patients,” Sobyanin said.
