Superfoods. Part III

I continue to compile a list of superfoods that provide tremendous benefits to our health, immunity, well-being and mood (see parts one and two). Moreover, it is quite easy to include them in your diet:

Perga

It is a mixture of pollen, nectar and enzymes produced by bees. I do not really like honey, and I have never used bee by-products at all. But, having taken up the issues of healthy eating, I began to often see mentions of how useful bee bread is for humans. It was doubly surprising for me that foreign experts also wrote about it, because I considered honey and its derivatives a very “Russian” and very “popular” topic. Obviously wrong ? The long-term effects of long-term use of bee bread include weight loss, strengthening the immune system, improving sexual function, and getting rid of seasonal allergies.

It turns out that even some athletes use bee bread: it gives energy, increases stamina and endurance.

Those who are sensitive to pollen or suffer from any food allergy should eat bee bread carefully.

And it is also important to understand that bee bread will have positive health effects only if it is of good quality and the correct collection technology, therefore, pay attention to who and where you buy bee bread (and honey).

Sesame

These seeds are one of the richest plant sources of calcium! In addition, they are rich in other important minerals: iron, zinc, magnesium, manganese and copper. Thanks to this, sesame allows you to maintain the correct level of minerals in bones and other tissues of the body, promotes the production of red blood cells, the synthesis of enzymes, and provides anti-inflammatory processes. Other ingredients in sesame seeds help fight free radical damage, stabilize blood pressure, and protect the liver from oxidative damage. Sesame is also a good source of protein.

Surprising: such unremarkable small seeds – and so many benefits!

Because sesame seeds contain oil, it is best to store them well packaged and refrigerated to prevent spoilage and rancidity.

You can use sesame seeds raw by adding seeds to any salads. And you can make pasta from it – tahini. It is used in the preparation of hummus, babaganush and other snacks and sauces. All these recipes are in my new ios app.

I buy sesame seeds here.

Ginger

Ginger has many beneficial properties: it cures colds, helps to lose weight, strengthens the immune system, and is also appreciated for its ability to prevent nausea and toxicosis during pregnancy, eliminate digestive problems and reduce blood pressure. In addition, ginger has numerous anti-inflammatory effects.

Small pieces of ginger are added to juices, smoothies, and they are also brewed with boiling water (with lemon, berries and spices) to make ginger tea.
