The hat is unevenly wavy, thinly fleshy towards the edge, dry, sticky in wet weather, yellowish-brown.

The spongy layer is not thick, first with labyrinthine, then with uneven wide angular pores, yellowish.

The leg is even, the same color as the cap.

The flesh in the cap is fleshy, in the stem is dense, fibrous, yellowish.

Spores are rounded, buffy-brown in mass.

It grows in alder forests and forms mycorrhiza with alder. It is distributed only in Europe. Rarely seen.
