The Importance of Gut Health

More than 2000 years ago, Hippocrates famously said, “All diseases begin in the gut.” In recent years, we have realized the significance of these words and how much the state of the intestine affects mental, physical and spiritual health. This means that the number of bacteria in the gut is 10 times greater than the number of cells in the human body. Such numbers are hard to imagine, but… can you imagine the impact on health this impressive number of microorganisms has? Often, a person’s immune system is weakened due to an imbalance of intestinal bacteria, along with an overabundance of internal and external toxins. Bringing the number of bacteria into balance (ideally 85% good bacteria and up to 15% neutral) can restore up to 75% of your immunity. Что мы можем сделать? Our society lives on the go, and food is often eaten too quickly, sometimes even while driving or while working. For most residents of megacities, food is a kind of inconvenience for which we sorely lack time. It is extremely important to learn to respect yourself and your health and allow yourself to take enough time for a leisurely meal. Relaxation and unhurried chewing of food is the best thing we can do for our digestion. It is recommended to chew at least 30 times before swallowing. You can start with 15-20 times, which will already be a noticeable difference. Plant fibers, healthy protein, nut oils, seeds, and algae are all very important for gut health. Green smoothies are a great way to support digestive function. Make sure you are consuming a variety of nutrients from a variety of foods and listen to your intuition. Initially, you need to eliminate toxins from the body, then work on restoring the balance of good bacteria and your body will be able to tell you what nutrients it lacks at one time or another.
