External Description

Steam champignon is distinguished by a reddish-brown cap, covered with sparsely spaced and large scales. On the edges of the hat, the remains of a private bedspread are clearly visible.

The cap ring has a large thickness and slightly sagging edges, single. The leg of the mushroom of this species is white, deeply buried in the ground, characterized by a perfectly smooth surface. At the base it is slightly thickened.

Mushroom pulp has a light, subtle aroma of chicory, white color, which becomes reddish when damaged or cut. The hymenophore is lamellar, and the plates in it are often, but freely. In unripe fruiting bodies, the plates are characterized by a reddish-pink color, while in mature ones they turn brown. The spores of the fungus are chocolate brown. The spore powder has the same shade.

The diameter of the cap is 8-10 cm, it is brown in color, its entire surface is covered with small scales. The stalk is white in color, has a length of 8-10 cm, and in young fruiting bodies contains visible fibers over its entire surface. as the mushrooms mature, the stem becomes completely smooth.
