Spa treatments for eczema
Second indication for a cure, skin conditions and especially atopic dermatitis. This eczema which affects infants can be treated in ad hoc stations from the age of 3-4 months. The benefit of the cure is measured by saving corticosteroid tubes! What types of care? Thermal waters have soothing, anti-inflammatory and healing properties. The treatment includes massages, baths, showers… The waters are also given to drink. The children are taken care of, on site, by specialist doctors. These treatments are generally carried out in the morning and the rest of the day is devoted to leisure and outdoor activities.

Spa treatments in practice
Do you feel that the drugs are not enough, or you would like to give her less? Discuss with your family doctor or a specialist (dermatologist or ENT), the interest of a spa treatment in this specific case. When the doctor has completed the request for reimbursement by health insurance, the agreement is in principle received three weeks later. Reserving at the resort is then possible, both for treatments at the spa and, possibly, for accommodation. Doctor’s fees and thermal spa packages are reimbursed at 70% by social security, the rest is covered by your mutual insurance company. To check: certain additional and comfort treatments are not reimbursed. Ask your health center for more information. Note that the stations welcome children, but always accompanied by their parents. For those over 3 years old, many spa towns have what are called “approved and reimbursed children’s homes”, such as Challes-les-Eaux or Luchon. Finally, it takes two or three consecutive cures of 21 days each to consolidate the good results obtained the first time.
