Today begins the Mycological Tapa Week of Soria, which celebrates its VII provincial contest of the Mycological Cover.
The gastronomic event is organized by Agrupación Soriana de Hostelería y Turismo (ASOHTUR).
Throughout the week, visitors can taste a tapas with the collection of nearby forests and pine forests at a price of 1,5 euros.
On this occasion, 53 hospitality establishments between bars and restaurants in the capital and the province will participate in the event and offer us their creations with the aim of participating or winning one of the contest prizes.
The categories to compete are:
- PRIZE FOR THE BEST PROVINCIAL MYCOLOGICAL COVER. endowed with 1,300 and will assess by a professional jury the presentation, its flavor and the originality of the lid,
- AWARD FOR THE BEST POPULAR MYCOLOGICAL COVER, endowed with 700 and it will be the public who chooses the winner
- AWARD FOR THE BEST MEDITERRANEAN MYCOLOGICAL TAPA. The one that best represents the ingredients of the Mediterranean diet will be awarded.
- AWARD FOR THE BEST QUALITY OF SERVICEThe tapa and whoever makes it, will be awarded with the materials used and with the uniformity of whoever serves it and the surroundings of the premises or bar.
In this edition it is presented as a novelty the days of Champions, where the three finalists in each category will have a new opportunity to offer the public of their premises the tapas they made for the contest.
Suggestive combinations and complex elaborations await us in this week of mushrooms, boletus, chanterelles, black trumpets, senderillas, truffles etc …
The Tapa marathon launches APP
A mobile application for smartphones has been developed for the occasion, called the Tapa Marathon, the game consists of checking-in at each establishment where one of the tapas in competition is consumed, through the geolocation of the device. The more tapas consumed and in more places, the more chances of opting for the prizes that will be raffled off among the marathoners.
