Products that cannot be eaten expired

Any product has its own expiration date, which is indicated on the packaging. Some of them can be used after this period, but there are those, the use of which afterwards can become fatal to your health and even life. What foods should be thrown away immediately if the expiration date has ended today?

  • Chicken

Any meat, especially chicken, should be cooked immediately after purchase. It is advisable not to buy a frozen product, but chilled fresh meat. The chicken is stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 0 to +4 degrees for 3 days, no more. Chicken frozen in the freezer is stored for six months, but after defrosting it should be immediately cooked. Expired poultry can lead to severe food poisoning.

  • Stuffing

It is recommended to use minced meat immediately and buy it enough to be enough for one dish. As a last resort, minced meat can be stored for 12 hours in the refrigerator at +4 degrees, but no more. Minced fish is stored even less – only 6 hours. You can freeze the minced meat for a period not exceeding 3 months, and cook the defrosted product immediately.

  • Eggs

Eggs have information on the date and time on the packaging – this is exactly what the period should be counted from: 3-4 weeks at a temperature of +2 degrees. It is strictly forbidden to use them longer than this period! Do not buy eggs for future use: there is no shortage of chicken eggs in our country!

  • Meat Slicing

Ready-made meat and sausage products are most exposed to the rapid multiplication of bacteria, and it is strictly forbidden to use them after the expiration date has passed. Opened cut packs can be stored in the refrigerator for no longer than 5 days.

  • Soft cheeses

Soft cheeses, due to their loose structure, quickly pass mold and bacteria inside. They are not stored for long – 2 weeks in the refrigerator at a temperature of 6-8 degrees. The telltale signs of missing cheese are stickiness and an unpleasant odor.

  • Shrimps

Shrimp and any other molluscs are the most susceptible to attack and growth of bacteria. Fresh shrimp can be stored in the refrigerator for no more than 3 days, and frozen shrimp for no more than 2 months.
