PSYchology

Obvious causes of problems are difficulties and problems that are visible to the naked eye and can be solved at the level of common sense.

If a girl is lonely because she just sits at home and does not go anywhere, first of all, she should be advised to expand her social circle.

These are problems that are usually obvious to both the specialist psychologist and the person himself. A person is aware of his problems, but either cannot cope with them, or does it inefficiently.

“You know, I have problems with memory and attention”, or “I don’t trust men”, “I don’t know how to get acquainted on the street”, “I can’t organize myself”.

The list of such problems is long, rather conditionally it can be reduced to the categories of «problem states» and «problem relations». Problematic states are fears, depressions, addictions, psychosomatics, no energy, problems with will and self-control in principle … Problematic relationships — loneliness, jealousy, conflicts, sick attachments, codependency …

Internal problems can be classified in other ways, for example, as spiritual intrigues and problems, problems with the head, mental problems, personality problems, psychological problems, behavioral difficulties.

The work of a psychologist

Strictly speaking, a psychologist can and should deal not with any internal, but only with psychological problems. However, in a situation where people have a choice — to turn to a neighbor, a specialist psychologist or a fortune teller, the work of a psychologist can make sense — it can be assumed that even his worldly recommendations will be no worse than the recommendations of fortunetellers, in addition, with almost any request, it can be possible to interest the client another topic, more related to psychology.

If now the psychologist gives high-quality, professional recommendations, he worked adequately and professionally.

On the other hand, if the psychologist feels incompetent in the client’s request and may assume that the client is more in need of social, medical or psychiatric assistance, then it is more correct to refer him to a specialized specialist.

The psychopath is not our client.

A large number of obvious internal problems can be solved directly, sometimes by clarification, sometimes by treatment (psychotherapy).
