Urolithiasis is a disease in which stones form in the organs of the urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureters). Stones can form at a young or old age.

Causes of stones:

  • disturbed blood composition (water-salt and chemical);
  • genetics;
  • chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and urinary system;
  • disrupted functioning of the thyroid and parathyroid glands;
  • bone diseases;
  • various injuries;
  • poisoning or transfer of an infectious disease that led to dehydration of the body;
  • insufficient amount of vitamins (most of all vitamin D);
  • high salt content in the water used;
  • sour, spicy, salty foods in excessive doses;
  • hot climate.

Symptoms of urolithiasis

  • severe back pain, especially in the lower back, which makes itself felt after physical overload, sometimes even if the position of the body is changed;
  • periodic colic in the kidney area (may stop if the stone leaves the kidney or ureter and moves into the bladder);
  • frequent urge to urinate, painful sensations with it;
  • the presence of blood in the urine;
  • cloudy urine with sediment;
  • pressure increase;
  • body temperature can rise up to 40 degrees.

Useful foods for urolithiasis

For the treatment and prevention of the disease, it is necessary to eat foods that prevent the appearance of oxalic acid. It is through her fault that chemical compounds are formed, which are called oxalates. They form insoluble stones.

To avoid the appearance of urolithiasis or to treat it, you need to eat diuretic products:

  • fruits and berries: pineapple, cherry, viburnum, cranberry, blackberry, plum, peach, cherry, mango, watermelon, orange, quince, pear, pomegranate and juices from it, lingonberry, lemon, dogwood, apples, currants, melon, blueberry, strawberries and strawberries;
  • vegetables: rutabagas, beets, turnips, pumpkin, zucchini, cucumber, potatoes;
  • porridge: buckwheat, barley, oats, rice, barley, corn, millet;
  • dried fruits: raisins;
  • meat: meat of wild poultry, rabbit, beef;
  • mushrooms;
  • bread (rye or made from wholemeal or second grade flour);
  • honey.

Folk remedies for the treatment of urolithiasis

1 Tip

To remove uric acid from the body and to dissolve stones, you need to drink grape juice. If it is taken for a long time, blood pressure is normalized.

2 Tip

Figs have an excellent diuretic effect. You need to eat it every day at least one piece a day.

3 Tip

Drink a decoction of celery. To do this, you need to take a few of its branches, pour boiling water (200 milliliters), cover, insist for 10-15 minutes. Filter. Divide into three steps.

4 Tip

Drink a tincture made from green oat grass (you can also drink oat grains). To prepare a healing tincture, you need to take a squeeze of green grass, mince it (or finely chop it), place it in a bottle with vodka or alcohol (diluted with water). Insist for 3 weeks (be sure to place in a dark, warm place). At times, the contents of the bottle should be mixed. After a three-week period, strain. You need to consume 60-80 drops per day (this amount is divided into 3 doses) before meals (20-30 minutes).

If, however, make a tincture from oat grains, then you need to take an incomplete handful and it is better to grind it in a coffee grinder. Then repeat the above steps.

5 Tip

If fresh oat grass is not available, straw can also be used. Take a press of oat straw, put in boiling water, leave for a couple of hours (until the water is brown), filter. Heat the resulting broth, take napkins or a piece of cloth, soak in this water, apply to the kidneys, cover with cellophane, bandage (preferably with a woolen belt or scarf), hold for 20 minutes. For the first time, 5 minutes may be enough. It all depends on the type of skin (as soon as you feel a strong burning sensation, immediately remove this compress).

These compresses help to expand the ureters, which is very good for the passage of stones.

6 Tip

Horseradish juice is an excellent diuretic for urolithiasis. To prepare it, you need to take horseradish root, grate, add sugar or honey. Mix. The resulting mixture is eaten a teaspoon before meals (you can smear it on bread).
