My child wets the bed: what if we tried hypnosis?

Before 5 years old, wetting the bed at night is not a problem. It gets more boring after this age. This is called enuresis. More than 10% of children, mostly little boys, would be affected by this disorder. Bedwetting can be primary if the child has never been clean for several months in a row. It is said secondary when an event triggers bedwetting again, after at least six months of being off. The causes of primary enuresis are mainly genetic : Having a parent who has suffered from it multiplies the risk by three.

How does the hypnosis session take place?

The hypnotherapist practitioner goes first question the child to know if it disturbs him or not. Then he will, by means of a very colorful language (balloon, automatic door, door that one controls …), explain to him very simply the functioning of his bladder, and work on the concept of restraint. He can also activate the child’s resources through a scenario in the form of three drawings. It uses hypnotic suggestions adapted to the age of the child, and thanks to this altered state of consciousness (very easy to get with a child), it puts an end to the little problem.

The testimony of Virginie, mother of Lou, 7 years old: “For my daughter, hypnosis worked well”

“At 6 years old, my daughter was still wetting the bed. She had a diaper for the night and the situation didn’t seem to traumatize her. On our side, we did not put pressure on him and waited for it to pass. What led us to speed things up was the announcement by the teacher of a week of green class at the end of the year. I explained to my daughter that she had to be clean at night to be able to participate. I contacted a hypnotherapist. This gentle method is very suitable for children. The session took place with kindness: explanations on the functioning of the bladder, drawings … so that my daughter becomes aware of the problem and manages to take charge of herself. The first week, there were 4 bed wets. The second, none! ”
