When is there more mucus in the stool?

There are various reasons why there is an increased amount of mucus in your stools. One of them is rotavirus diarrhea. The appearance of mucus in the stool when your baby is vomiting and having diarrhea could be a sign of this condition. The virus causes the amount of mucus to be increased and the faeces are slightly greenish in color. It is also worth knowing that this shade of stool also occurs during teething. Symptoms of rotavirus diarrhea include fever, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and general irritability. If the doctor determines rotavirus diarrhea, make sure your child is given plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. It’s important to know that mucus in your stool can also be a sign of a food allergy. If the parents do not react in time, the child’s food allergy may get worse with age. Then various rashes or other skin lesions may appear.
