Maud Fontenoy

Maud Fontenoy, green mom

Maud Fontenoy is the godmother of the new attraction of Futuroscope, the 8th continent. A few minutes before the inauguration, we met the navigator. Lightly made up and relaxed, the young woman evokes her life as a committed mother, ready to fight against all odds.

Why did you agree to sponsor the new Futuroscope attraction?

The Futuroscope team came to see me and asked for me. This project appealed to me because it is about raising awareness of sustainable development in a joyful way. With my foundation, we got involved from day one. I will discover the result at the same time as you.

In this sustainable development week, what message do you want to send for the protection of the oceans?

We can all take action no matter where we live, near or far from an ocean. The oceans are essential for human survival. Sustainable development can be exciting. It is innovative growth.

Do you have to consume organic to be green?

Organic is now a little more expensive than traditional food. You can also buy less chips and sugar bars and put that budget elsewhere. But I don’t want to feel guilty, we do with the budget we have. Involvement also involves raising awareness of the environment: preserving plants and animals, not collecting shells, etc.

What advice could you give to moms concerned about taking action for the environment?

Start by acting at the supermarket. We are responsible for what we buy. It is necessary, for example, to look at the price per kilo. Buy simpler products and avoid ready-made meals. Cooking can be a game. Preparing a soup doesn’t take much more time.

Consume as much as possible organic. In short, go back to simple and natural things.

A women’s movement, “the ginks”, refuses to give birth to children in order to preserve the environment. What do you think ?

We must not start on this. We have to find a new way to consume, invent new technologies to implement solutions. This speech is too extreme. Everyone has their place on earth.
