Kid with Down Syndrome became the face of an advertising campaign

“Our son Asher was born with Down syndrome. But although this disease is part of him, it is not the main thing. Down’s syndrome is not what determines his personality. ” All America now knows the smiling face of baby Asher. And all thanks to his mother, who decided that her child was worthy of a lot – including filming for advertising.

Megan Nash considers her child the most beautiful in the world. This is not surprising, all mothers think about their children this way. But Megan was not just moved by sitting in her nursery. She decided that her baby should see the world. And I thought – why shouldn’t Asher take part in the casting for filming in advertising? And then it turned out that her son had no chance. Not a single one. He simply will not be allowed to the casting because of the diagnosis.

– It looks like discrimination. And it really hurts. I look at Asher and think – what would be the contribution to the development of the global modeling business. And he doesn’t even have a chance to be rejected. He was simply not given the opportunity to even try! – Megan was indignant. And she went to war.

First, she created a Facebook page for Asher – Asher’s Down Right Perfect. And on his behalf, she turned to the Oshkosh brand B’gosh is a company that produces children’s clothing and footwear. I asked to evaluate the model data of little Asher.

Affection is a viral reaction. Megan decided to support the community dedicated to children with Down syndrome. Usher’s photo became incredibly viral, filling all news feeds and channels. And it caused only affection – more and more affection! Asher’s page quickly gained more than seven thousand subscribers. And in the comments to the posts made by the baby’s mother, people are already sharing their own stories – after all, Asher is not one such child.

Of course, Oshkosh B’gosh could not pass by such a flurry of human emotions.

– We liked Asher, we enjoyed spending time with his family. We appreciate Ms. Nash’s efforts to involve children with special needs in advertising campaigns. We will make every effort to ensure that there are more of these children in our campaigns, – said a spokesman for Oshkosh B’gosh.

– My goal is for Asher to be included in life. After all, he will become an adult, he will have a job. I want him to be involved in the society of his colleagues, his peers. I want him to be able to live in a world that accepts him for who he is – namely Asher, not his diagnosis, ”said Asher Nash’s mother.
