American grandfather knits hats for hundreds of premature babies

What to do in retirement? Start knitting? As it turned out, such thoughts occur not only to grandmothers. So 86-year-old American Ed Moseley decided to learn to knit in his old age.

His daughter bought him knitting needles, yarn and a knitting magazine. And so Ed, through trial and error, stabbing his fingers and earning blisters on them, nevertheless mastered this craft. The prospect of simply knitting socks for his grandchildren did not suit the grandfather – the pensioner decided to benefit as many children as possible, especially those who need it. As a result, Ed Moseley took up knitting hats for premature babies who are nursed at a hospital in Atlanta.

Ed’s enthusiasm was infectious, and the pensioner’s nurse joined in knitting hats for premature babies.

His granddaughter told about his grandfather’s hobby and “mission” at her school, and one of the classmates also took up the knitting needles. And on November 17, International Premature Baby Day, Ed Moseley sent 350 hats to the hospital.

A story about the man was shown on television, where he commented on his good deed: “I still have a lot of free time. And knitting is easy. “

Ed is going to continue knitting for premature babies. In addition, after the reportage, threads began to be sent to him from all over the world. Now the pensioner knits red hats. It was these who were asked by the hospital administration to tie him to the Day of Fight Against Heart Diseases, which will be held there in February.
