I got pregnant, by surprise, a year after meeting Cédric. I had just lost my job and got kicked out of my mom’s house. I was living with my boyfriend’s parents at the time.
Having severe kidney problems, I didn’t think I could carry this pregnancy to term. I went to see a urologist who assured me it was safe. So I decided to keep the baby. Cedric was not against it, but he had a lot of fears.
Between the search for an apartment, the daily worries… we had the impression that everything was happening very quickly. But when we welcomed Lorenzo, everything changed.
Our little boy did not have an easy start in life and made us see all the colors. Despite everything, we absolutely do not regret our choice and want a little second (or even more…).
Lorenzo is well educated and already has quite a character. He is happy and fulfilled. We, as parents, we are fulfilled, and, as a couple, we like to get together to keep our bond.
I keep smiling even though, when I go out with my son, people often think that I am his nanny and the stares can be heavy (because, besides, I look younger than my age).
Our decision was that of our heart. We kindly pushed out of our lives those who did not accept it – and there were! After all, we don’t ask anything of anyone except our parents, who help us from time to time. They are happy to be grandparents, although they have taken a “blow of old” as they say.
Of course, we don’t have the same experience in life as people who have children late. But just because you’re 30-35 doesn’t mean you’re better parents. Age does nothing, love does everything!
