Reading time – 5 minutes.

Compote is a delicious drink, a drinking reminder of summer. Compotes are prepared for future use in 4 ways:

  1. The berries are poured with boiling water, and insisted, then the boiling water is drained, a syrup is prepared on its basis – and the compote mixture is poured over it again. Sometimes this procedure is repeated several times. This is the classic, or “grandmother’s” way.
  2. Berries and fruits are boiled in syrup – sometimes they only bring to a boil, and sometimes you have to boil juices from compote products for a long time. Then cover with lids. This is the most popular “urban” method, as you can cook a lot at once.
  3. The compote products are sterilized directly in the jars – the products are put into the jar, poured with water and sugar is added, they are put on sterilization for 10-20 minutes. The method has a clear disadvantage – without special equipment, the method is very time consuming.
  4. Berries and / or fruits are frozen for the winter, and if necessary, frozen fruits are boiled.
