The sauerkraut diet is a godsend for the thrifty: you can buy cabbage at any store. In addition, many people prefer to ferment cabbage according to their own recipe.

Pros of a sauerkraut diet

Thanks to the acids that are formed during the fermentation process, this dish has a mild diuretic effect and relieves swelling. So, without even severely limiting your diet, with its help you can lose weight by a couple of kilograms in just a couple of days.

Cons of a “pickled” diet

Yes, you cannot sit on this diet for more than three days. Firstly, because it is the nutrients in sauerkraut that are few, and a diet based on it can be classified as tough. Secondly, the acids contained in sauerkraut can be great harm even to a healthy stomach if you eat only this product for more than three days. Therefore, with increased acidity of the stomach and other problems with the gastrointestinal tract (ulcer, gastritis), it is better to consider other unloading options. You should not experiment with a diet on sauerkraut and those who are sick with diabetes and hypertension.
