How to cook green beans

Green beans serve as a lifesaver for many housewives, because having several packs of frozen beans in the freezer, you don’t have to worry about the side dish. Cooking green beans correctly so that they don’t turn into an unpresentable khaki-colored mess is an art, but absolutely accessible to everyone. It is enough to rinse fresh beans under running water, and if they are long and thin, leave them as they are, just trim the tails. Thickened green beans must be cut diagonally into several parts, so it is more convenient to cook and more aesthetically pleasing to serve. Frozen beans must be rinsed under running water and can be put into boiling water without defrosting.

 

Green beans, traditional

Ingredients:

 
  • Beans – 0,5 kg.
  • Butter – 50 gr.
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 2 tsp.
  • Parsley – a small bunch
  • Ground black pepper to taste.

Boil water in a large saucepan, add beans and salt. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, try so that the beans are al-dente, that is, they crunch a little inside. Throw the finished beans in a colander, rinse under cold water or place in a container with cold (ice-cold) water for a minute. This procedure will return the green beans to their bright green color. Basically, the beans are ready. But to improve the taste, heat it in a saucepan with the addition of butter, pepper and a little salt. Chop the parsley, sprinkle on the beans and sprinkle everything together with lemon juice. Serve instantly, ideal for grilled or steamed fish, meat and chicken.

Green Bean Omelet

Ingredients:

  • Beans – 0,3 kg.
  • Eggs – 4 pieces.
  • Milk – 1/2 cup
  • Sunflower oil – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Salt, red pepper – to taste.

Rinse the beans, chop if necessary and fry in oil for 5-7 minutes over medium heat. In a bowl with a fork, combine eggs, salt and milk, pour the mixture over the beans. Cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Serve with fresh cucumbers and ripe tomatoes.

Green beans with pepper

 

Ingredients:

  • Beans – 0,5 kg.
  • Bulgarian pepper – 3 pc.
  • Onions – 2 pc.
  • Garlic – 3 teeth
  • Sunflower oil – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Salt, ground black pepper – to taste.

Boil the beans in a large amount of salted water for 5-7 minutes, put them in a colander and rinse with cold water. Cut the onion into half rings, fry in oil, add pepper, cut into thin strips, mix and cook for 5 minutes. Send beans to vegetables, mix, warm up. Season with salt, pepper and add chopped garlic. After two minutes, remove from heat and serve, sprinkle with fresh herbs.
