There are many ways to cook corn: in the microwave, in the oven, in a double boiler, in a multicooker, in an airfryer. But we’ll talk about the simplest way: how to properly boil corn in a pot of water. Everything is very simple, but there are several nuances:

  • it takes only 20 – 25 minutes to cook young corn;
  • maize in “venerable age” is boiled for 120 -150 min. (2 -2,5 hours).

Step-by-step instruction:

  • we cleanse of leaves and hairs. Can be cooked with leaves. Remove only the most “outer clothing” from the cob and remove the stigmas (antennae);
  • put some leaves from the cob on the bottom of a deep and wide container;
  • we put the cobs in a saucepan, if the container is too small, they can be cut in half;
  • pour boiling water over and put on the stove. If you pour cold water, it takes longer to cook;
  • Attention: do not add salt during cooking! Salt makes it only harder;
  • from the moment the water boils, we cook young ears for 20 – 25 minutes;
  • you can taste one of the seeds to determine if it’s done.

Remember the secret: as soon as the corn is cooked, drain the water, close the lid and wrap the pan with a warm cloth. So our beauty should sweat for about 15 minutes. But you have to bear with it!

Serve hot with salt and preferably with butter. Voila! It is fantastic!
