A sailor’s wife – a life story told by a fellow traveler

😉 Greetings to everyone who wandered into this site! “The sailor’s wife” is a life story, friends. A fellow traveler told me this story to the sound of the wheels, and I will tell you.

Moscow – Odessa

Previously, the crews of the Black Sea Fleet vessels were often changed overseas. ports, and the sailors returned to Odessa through Moscow. We flew to Sheremetyevo, and then by train – home. Somehow seven such people were traveling.

All, as if on selection, strong, tanned – they were on the flight for ten months, they earned a lot of money. They began to drink as soon as the Kievsky railway station was out of sight. Well, the neighbors in the compartment were involved.

In general, they met a Muscovite guy. In the late afternoon, sincere conversations began. This Muscovite said that on vacation he met an awesome woman from Odessa, married.

At first, she didn’t want to date him. But then I decided a couple of times to go to the dances with him, to the beach. In general, both fell in love. Parting is just a knife to the heart. The student went to his home, to Moscow, to look for money for the move.

And she flatly refused to leave Odessa: the student does not have his own home in the capital, and she does not want to knock around in the corners. Just arrived in Moscow, immediately called her, and she tells him that she was pregnant with him. Well, the guy was completely led.

He collected his things, goes, and he is thinking about what he will support his family for. He got emotional, began to show a photo of his passion, where she is covered with one light scarf.

One of the sailors took this photo, looked at it and darkened. I went out into the corridor to smoke. His wife was in the photo! To bring her rags, he enlisted on a long voyage through malaria hot countries. What should I do? Beat the student in the face? We talked with him.

“They have love, you know,” the sailor says sadly, “but what about me? For two hours he stood in the corridor. Then he returned to the compartment, took out the cards:

– Do you hear, student, let’s play at twenty-one!

Student assistance

He denied it for a long time, then sat down – the road was long, and the risk seemed to be small. At first, the bill went for a pretty penny, then rubles went. By noon, the sailor had completely lost everything – his ten-month salary, and the VCR, and even his leather jacket.

The student did not want to take the jacket. But the sailor made him take, and a few hours before Odessa he got off at some station. How his fate later developed, I do not know. And I met a student with that “sailor” in Odessa on the central square, they were walking the baby in a stroller.
