How to clean an apartment in less than two hours
Cleaning an apartment in less than two hours seems like an impossible task to many. But it’s actually not hard at all if you put in a little effort and don’t procrastinate. We tell you how to do it

The mother-in-law calls and says that in two hours she will come to visit. And in the apartment everything is upside down: for the second week you have been working for yourself and for your colleagues who have gone on vacation. Or the owner of the apartment you are renting has gathered for an inspection. Or decided to look friends. In general, two hours before the visit, during which you need to bring the apartment into a divine form. Time has gone!

If friends are expected, they obviously will not go through all the rooms with a revision. Focus on the areas where guests will visit: entrance hall, bathroom, living room or kitchen. The landlord will be more interested in how well you take care of the kitchen and plumbing, and he will not care about the mess on the shelves in the wardrobe. Think about what is important right now. Well, a picky relative can turn a critical eye anywhere …

Living rooms

1. First, make your beds and collect loose clothing. Send the clean to the cabinets. If you are in doubt about something – in the wash without thinking. There is no need to start the machine: there is no time.

Time consumption: 10 minutes.

2. Collect all toys that are lying around from the floor, throw them into boxes without sorting, whether it’s Lego parts or dolls. And if the child is of the right age to do it on his own, let him do it. You can threaten that the uncleaned will go to the trash (just fulfill the promise, otherwise the reception will not work the second time).

Things from other rooms must be returned “to their homeland”. But there is no time to wear each one: they took a basin and methodically went around each room in a clockwise direction, collecting everything “non-local”. In the next room, repeat the collection, and at the same time send things from the pelvis to the right places. Etc.

Time consumption: 15 minutes.

3. There is probably a mountain of dirty dishes in the sink. It must either be sent to the dishwasher (ideally) or soaked so that after 10 – 15 minutes most of the contaminants move away effortlessly.

Time consumption: 5 minutes.

4. In rooms, a sense of disorder is created by small things scattered on a horizontal surface. It is better to group them: cosmetics – in a special organizer, suitcase, or at least a beautiful basket. Stack documents. Maybe there is a special tray or desk drawer for them? Don’t get hung up thinking about where to take this or that thing. Think about it in a freer environment. Now you have brushed 15 nail polishes into the top drawer of the dressing table – then you will sort it out and come up with a place for each.

Time consumption: 5 minutes.

5. Wipe all freed surfaces from dust. It is not worth climbing on the upper shelves now. It is enough to clean everything at eye level and down to the floor. Maximum – at arm’s length. If the surfaces are behind glass, this time we skip them.

But do not ignore the glossy and dark facades of cabinet furniture.

Open windows for ventilation.

Time consumption: 15 minutes.

Kitchen

6. We return to the kitchen – first of all, wash the dishes that are useful for receiving guests. Everything that requires a long scrubbing is folded and removed from sight. You can directly in a basin with a small amount of water – under the sink.

Time consumption: 10 minutes (everything that we didn’t have time to postpone).

7. Wash the surface of the plate, sink. Wipe dry. Even if you return to the sink heels of unwashed dishes, it will still look more or less neat.

Time consumption: 4 minutes.

8. We quickly wipe the facades of the kitchen, especially in the area of uXNUMXbuXNUMXbthe handles. Refrigerator door, countertop.

Time consumption: 6 minutes.

Everywhere

9. Floors. It all depends on what kind of coverage you have and on the polluting abilities of the household. I have linoleum, laminate, and a few short pile bedside rugs. For emergencies, I take a mop with a damp microfiber pasta head and walk across the floor, sweeping and mopping the floor in one go. Such a mop also perfectly sweeps away specks from rugs.

We do not move furniture, we do not climb deep under the bed.

Time consumption: 12 minutes.

Lavatory

10. We move to the bathroom. We apply a cleaner to the toilet. Checking for toilet paper.

We clean the acrylic bathtub with a special spray foam (it washes away dirt in 1-2 minutes) or we wash it with ordinary shower gel. A new steel or cast iron bath can also be cleaned with a regular gel. But if the plumbing is old, the enameled surface becomes porous and easily absorbs dirt. Here you can not do without vigorous chemistry. Then we apply it to the bath and clean the sink. Don’t forget to wipe down the mirror – there’s probably a splatter of paste in there. We rinse everything, wipe it with at least a towel. Towel – in the wash, hang fresh. We wash off the cleaner from the toilet bowl, wipe the seat, tank, drain button with a paper towel or wet wipes. We wipe the floor dry. Change carpets for clean ones.

Time consumption: 7-13 minutes.

hallway

11. We remove excess shoes from under our feet in the hallway. On shelves, in boxes. At least neatly arranged. We wipe interior doors, especially around the handles. Switches (in bathrooms they are the most polluted). We wash the floor in the hallway and put out slippers for guests.

Time consumption: 7 minutes.

throughout the apartment

12. With a microfiber cloth and a cleaning spray, clean the mirrors, including the mirror inserts on the cabinet doors.

Time consumption: 4 minutes.

13. We send someone to take out the trash and take a fresh look at the apartment right from the door: what else catches your eye? Maybe it’s time to change your bedding? Be sure to do this after the guests leave. Now it’s enough to change the pillowcases.

Total: 100 minutes. You have 20 more minutes to wipe the sweat off your forehead, exhale and dress up.

Important: Checkpoints

What is the first thing that catches your eye and irritates:

✓ scattered things and cluttered horizontal surfaces;

✓ stench from the trash can, from dirty dishes, uncleaned toilet;

✓ stains on mirrors, countertops, near door handles;

✓ debris on the floor sticking to the feet.
