Facial mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is called the future of cosmetology – a procedure that can preserve beauty and health for a long time. Here’s what you need to know to decide on this procedure.

What is Facial Mesotherapy

Facial mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure in which a complex of beneficial minerals and amino acids is delivered to the mesoderm by injection. Such a cocktail is able not only to optimally correlate the cosmetic and therapeutic effects on the problem area, but also on the body as a whole. At the same time, to neutralize a number of aesthetic shortcomings: age spots, wrinkles, dark circles under the eyes, dry skin, dull color and uneven facial relief. The effect of the procedure is achieved due to two criteria: the impact of the active components of the drug and a thin mechanical injection needle. Having received many microtraumas during the procedure, the skin actively begins to produce elastin and collagen, thereby improving blood microcirculation.

The technique of mesotherapy is performed manually or by hardware. A hardware injector usually makes injections less painful for patients who are sensitive to pain. Also, the method of hardware introduction of mesotherapy is relevant for the correction of cellulite. The manual method, in turn, is more balanced in terms of the physiological structure of certain areas of the body, it is possible for them to work out finely and accurately, for example, the areas around the mouth and eyes. In particular, this method of mesotherapy is recommended for patients with thin skin.

Preparations for mesotherapy, as a rule, are selected individually. It depends on skin type, age, sensitivity to certain ingredients. For the introduction, they can use both a ready-made composition and a cocktail prepared for the needs of your skin.

Types of components for mesotherapy:

synthesized – artificial ingredients that are part of most cocktails. The most popular of these is hyaluronic acid, which can quickly moisturize, smooth and give radiance to the skin.

Vitamins – varieties A, C, B, E, P or a mix of all at once, it all depends on the needs of the skin.

Minerals – zinc, phosphorus or sulfur, solving skin problems with acne.

Phospholipids – components that restore the elasticity of cell membranes.

Herbal Gingko Biloba, Gingocaffeine or Animal Extracts – collagen or elastin, which maintains skin elasticity.

organic acids – a certain concentration of acid, for example, glycolic.

The history of the procedure

Mesotherapy as a method of treatment has been known for a long time. The procedure first appeared in 1952, it was then that the French doctor Michel Pistor tried the subcutaneous administration of vitamins to his patient. At that time, the procedure had its therapeutic effect in several areas, but for a short time. Having carefully studied all the consequences of the procedure, Dr. Pistor came to the conclusion that the same drug, administered in different doses and at different points, can give a completely different therapeutic effect.

Over time, the mesotherapy procedure has changed a lot – in terms of the technique of execution and the composition of cocktails. Today, mesotherapy as a technique for performing multiple injections causes the desired result – preventive, therapeutic and aesthetic.

Advantages of mesotherapy

Cons of mesotherapy

How does the mesotherapy procedure work?

Before the procedure, you must consult with a cosmetologist. According to the seasonality of the implementation, this method has no special restrictions – that is, you can do mesotherapy all year round, subject to subsequent protection of the face from direct sunlight and the rejection of solariums for one week before and after the procedure.

The drug or composition to be administered subcutaneously is selected based on the needs of the patient. Mesococktails are effectively injected into the skin using the finest needles – manually or with a mesopistol. The choice of technique is selected by the doctor depending on the patient’s skin type, in addition, this condition depends on the specific area where injections will be made. The most sensitive areas, such as around the mouth or eyes, are treated only by hand, so that the distribution of the drug occurs finely and accurately.

During a mesotherapy session, you should not be afraid of pain, because the cosmetologist will pre-prepare the skin by applying an anesthetic cream for 20-30 minutes. The next step is to cleanse the skin. After the skin has been cleansed and prepared, the meso-cocktail is injected under the skin using an ultra-thin needle. The depth of insertion is superficial, up to 5 mm. The focus of distribution of the drug is strictly indicated and controlled by a specialist. Injections contain only small doses of drugs 0,2 ml of the active substance is the maximum value. The number of injections done is quite large, so the duration of the session will be about 20 minutes.

As a result of the procedure, a therapeutic mixture enters the skin, which is distributed by cells throughout the body. Therefore, the effect of mesotherapy has a beneficial effect not only on the transformation of the outer epidermis, but also on the circulation of substances in the body and the functioning of the immune system.

The mesotherapy procedure is sometimes completed by applying a soothing mask that relieves redness of the skin. At the end of the session, you can actually forget about the rehabilitation period. After all, skin recovery occurs quite quickly, you just need to follow some recommendations. Refrain from using decorative cosmetics, do not touch your face with your hands and do not visit a bath, sauna or solarium.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the procedure depends on the composition of the cocktail, the level of the salon and the qualifications of the cosmetologist.

On average, the cost of one procedure varies from 3 to 500 rubles.

Where is held

Mesotherapy is capable of transformation if the procedure is carried out only by a competent specialist.

It is forbidden to inject the drug under the skin on your own at home, because the wrong technique and lack of professional skills can lead to hospitalization. In addition, you can bring irreversible harm to your appearance, the consequences of which will be difficult to correct even for the most highly qualified specialist.

Depending on the age and size of the problem, the number of treatments will vary from 4 to 10 sessions.

The effect of the transformation can be noticed immediately after one procedure, and it is necessary to repeat after the expiration of the period: from six months to a year.

Expert Opinion

Kristina Arnaudova, dermatovenereologist, cosmetologist, researcher:

– Injection cosmetology today has almost completely replaced the care procedures “without a syringe”. So, most often I recommend such a procedure as mesotherapy to my patients.

The effectiveness of mesotherapy is based on the direct injection of a drug selected by a doctor into the skin to solve various problems. This method is effective both in aesthetic cosmetology for improving the quality and properties of the skin: fighting pigmentation, in the complex treatment of acne and post-acne, and in trichology in the treatment of various types of alopecia (focal, diffuse, etc.). In addition, mesotherapy copes well with local fat deposits, while using lipolytic cocktails.

Do not forget that for a visible result it is necessary to undergo a course of procedures, the number of which is at least 4. Excellent results after a course of mesotherapy indicate high efficiency and expediency of the procedure, despite the pain of the procedure. However, it should be noted that mesotherapy in the correction of age-related changes is more prophylactic in nature, that is, it is desirable to carry it out before the age of 30-35. Do not forget that it is impossible to carry out the procedure on your own, it can only be carried out by dermatocosmetologists.
