Description

Like any hybrid, “Beam splendor f1” was obtained by crossing two varietal cucumbers endowed with certain qualities. This allowed breeders to develop a first-generation hybrid with an amazing yield, which reaches 40 kg per 1 m2 earth. Such a high yield was obtained thanks to the bundle ovary and parthenocarpic cucumber. So, in one bundle, from 3 to 7 ovaries can simultaneously form. All of them are fruit-bearing, female type. For pollination of flowers, the cucumber does not require the participation of insects or humans.

Variety “Beam splendor f1” is the brainchild of the Ural agricultural company and is adapted for cultivation in the climatic conditions of the Urals and Siberia. Open and protected soils, tunnels are suitable for cultivating cucumbers. At the same time, the culture is especially demanding for watering, top dressing, loosening, weeding. In order for the cucumber of this variety to be able to fully bear fruit, in the required volume with timely ripening of the fruit, the cucumber bush should be formed.

Cucumbers of the variety “Beam splendor f1” belong to the category of gherkins. Their length does not exceed 11 cm. The shape of the cucumbers is even, cylindrical. On their surface, one can observe shallow tubercles, the tops of cucumbers are narrowed. The color of the fruit is light green, with small light stripes along the cucumber. Cucumber thorns are white.

The taste qualities of cucumbers of the variety “Beam splendor f1” are very high. They do not contain bitterness, their fresh aroma is pronounced. Cucumber pulp is dense, tender, juicy, has an amazing, sweetish taste. The crunch of the vegetable is preserved even after heat treatment, canning, salting.

Benefits of Cucumbers

In addition to high productivity, excellent taste of cucumbers and self-pollination, the Puchkovoe Splendor f1 variety, compared to other varieties, has a number of advantages:

  • excellent tolerance to sudden changes in temperature;
  • resistance to cold;
  • suitability for growing in low-lying areas with frequent fog;
  • resistance to common cucumber diseases (powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus, brown spot);
  • long fruiting period, up to autumn frosts;
  • collection of fruits in the amount of 400 cucumbers from one bush per season.

Having given the advantages of the cucumber variety, it is worth mentioning its shortcomings, which include the exactingness of the plant in care and the relatively high cost of seeds (a package of 5 seeds costs about 90 rubles).

Growing stages

The given bunch variety of cucumbers is early ripe, its fruits ripen in 45-50 days from the day the seed is sown in the ground. In order to bring the moment of harvest as close as possible, the seeds are germinated before sowing.

seed germination

Before germinating cucumber seeds, they must be disinfected. Harmful microorganisms can be removed from the surface of the seed using a manganese or saline solution, by short soaking (the seeds are placed in the solution for 20-30 minutes).

After processing, cucumber seeds are ready for germination. To do this, they are laid out between two flaps of damp cloth, the nursery is placed in a plastic bag and left in a warm place (ideal temperature 270FROM). After 2-3 days, sprouts can be observed on the seeds.

Seeding for seedlings

For sowing seeds for seedlings, it is better to use peat pots or peat tablets. It will not be necessary to extract the plant from them, since peat decomposes perfectly in the ground and acts as a fertilizer. In the absence of special containers, small containers can be used to grow cucumber seedlings.

Prepared containers must be filled with soil. To do this, you can use the finished soil mixture or make it yourself. The composition of the soil for growing seedlings of cucumbers should include: earth, humus, mineral fertilizers, lime.

In containers filled with soil, cucumber seeds “Beam splendor f1” are planted 1-2 cm, after which they are abundantly watered with warm boiled water, covered with protective glass or film. Sowing seedlings until the emergence of seedlings is placed in a warm place. At the first appearance of cotyledon leaves, the containers are released from the protective film (glass) and placed in a lighted place with a temperature of 22-23 0C.

Seedling care consists of regular watering and spraying. When two full leaves appear, the cucumber can be planted in the ground.

Important! Variety “Beam splendor f1” can be sown directly into the ground with a seed, without first growing seedlings. In this case, the fruiting period will come 2 weeks later.

Planting seedlings in the ground

For picking seedlings, it is necessary to make holes and moisten them in advance. Cucumbers in peat containers sink into the ground with them. From other containers, the plant is taken out with the preservation of an earthy clod on the root. After placing the root system in the hole, it is sprinkled with earth and compacted.

Important! Planting cucumber seedlings is best done in the evening, after sunset.

It is necessary to plant cucumbers of the “Beam Splendor f1” variety with a frequency of no more than 2 bushes per 1 m2 soil. After picking into the ground, cucumbers must be watered daily, then the plants are watered as needed 1 time per day or 1 time in 2 days.

Shrub formation

“Beam splendor f1” refers to strongly growing crops, so it must be formed into one stem. This will improve lighting and nutrition of the ovaries. The formation of a cucumber of this variety involves two actions:

  • starting from the root, in the first 3-4 sinuses, side shoots and emerging ovaries should be removed;
  • all side shoots located on the main lash are removed during the entire growth of the plant.

Top dressing of an adult plant, harvesting

Top dressing of an adult cucumber is recommended to be carried out with nitrogen-containing and mineral fertilizers. They are applied every 2 weeks, until the end of the fruiting period. The first complementary foods must be carried out at the initial stage of the formation of the ovaries. Fertilization after harvesting the first crop will contribute to the formation of new ovaries in the “spent” sinuses. Each application of fertilizer should be accompanied by abundant watering.

Timely collection of ripe cucumbers allows you to accelerate the ripening of younger fruits, thereby increasing the yield of the plant. So, the collection of cucumbers should be carried out at least once every 2 days.

On the advice of a friend, this year I planted the Beam Splendor variety in a greenhouse. She grew seedlings at home and only at the end of May dived into the ground. The harvest after planting appeared quite quickly, its volumes pleasantly surprised me. A cucumber of this variety takes up little space, but at the same time bears fruit very abundantly, which is very good for greenhouse conditions. For the future, I have taken note of this beam variety.
