General Description
Actually, “E” in the names of E-additives or E-numbers only means that the substances used in the preparation of the product belong to the list of food additives approved in Europe. Not more. And information about them contains a digital code.
So, remember! The letter “E” stands for Europe, and the digital code is a characteristic of the food additive to the product.
A code starting with 1 means dyes; 2 – preservatives, 3 – antioxidants (they prevent spoilage of the product), 4 – stabilizers (preserve its consistency), 5 – emulsifiers (maintain the structure), 6 – flavor and aroma enhancers, 9 – anti-flaming, that is antifoam substances. E – 700 and E -899 are spare numbers. Indexes with a four-digit number indicate the presence of sweeteners – substances that keep sugar or salt friable, glazing agents.
There are flavors, leavening agents, glazing agents, sweeteners, clarifiers, anti-caking agents, acidity regulators on the list … The era of additives began in the second half of the last century, but now more than three thousand of them are known.

There are additives that are definitely harmful, and everyone knows this, but they have been used for decades, because there is no alternative. Such “irreplaceable” substances include sodium nitrite. It is used in the production of sausages to give it a delicious pink color.
An overdose of sodium nitrite is extremely dangerous. Once in the body, a substance related to nitrate blocks the supply of oxygen to the tissues, and a person can die. And why are we hooked on this sausage?
However, in the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision, I was reassured: sodium nitrite is one of the few additives, the concentration of which in the product is easily determined by laboratory methods.
Exceedances, even minor ones, are very rare.
Determining the presence of banned substances is not easy.
Our various inspection bodies are much more concerned about something that does not require special laboratory studies: invoices, cash receipts, products on display cases. Therefore, environmentalists draw the attention of city residents: be vigilant!
merci beaucoup, en fait je fais une allergie à mes médicament qui est grave, oedeme et paralysie de la langue, oedeme des corde vocales, puis oedeme gorge et trachée. et ce depuis février et s’agrave au fur et à mesure. sauf que mon médecin reffuse d’y croire et reffuse de me prescrire de la cortisone, un autre médecin la fait et c’est la preuve même si je n’en suis pas encore guérie. je vois mon allergologue demain et j’ai listé les produits dans les médicaments , j’ai dût devenir allergique. vôtre tableu va m’aider beaucoup à voir lesquels demain contiennent quoi et les allergènes présent dans combien d’entre eux. un oedeme de Quick j’aurais pût mourir. le médecin a 3 ans de la retraite va partir avant. je vais pas laisser une personne dangereuse à ce point éxercer. merci beaucoup.
