Baby: 4 rules to prevent winter viruses

1. We wash our hands

At one year, a baby’s immunity rate is only 17% of that of an adult. And because 80% of infectious diseases – influenza, bronchiolitis, gastro, angina – are transmitted by the hands, it is advisable to sewash your hands regularly before touching your baby. Apart from soap and water, there are hydroalcoholic wipes and gelswhich kill 99,9% of bacteria and H1N1 viruses. A valid reflex for the whole family and guests, especially during an epidemic.

2. Beware of toys and cuddly toys

Soft toys and toys, whether they suck or snuggle up against, are germ nests for your babies. Remember to clean their toys well, especially when they have been in contact with other children.

For toys: we use a disinfectant spray adapted to baby’s universe with a formula without aggressive residues and without bleach. Remember to always rinse and dry them well before returning them to your child.

For cuddly toys: in the machine, a cycle at 90 ° C eliminates germs. For the most delicate, the Sanytol brand has developed a laundry disinfectant that eradicates 99,9% of bacteria, fungi and H1N1 viruses from 20 ° C.

3. Viruses lying around the house: we clean everything

Good to know: some viruses, such as the one responsible for gastroenteritis, can remain active for up to 60 days on your furniture.

To prevent their spread, we clean and disinfect as quickly as possible :

  • Door handles
  • Switches
  • Remote Controls

Et any surface that has been in contact with a sick person thanks to disinfectant wipes. And also: remember to wash sheets, towels and clothes of the patient separately at 90 ° C, or at 20 ° C with a disinfectant detergent or a disinfectant of the linen.

4. Clean air in the house

10 minutes per day: this is the minimum aeration time to evacuate microbes. Also be careful not to overheat the rooms of the house (20 ° C maximum) because dry air weakens the mucous membranes. Think of humidifiers and, above all, a ban on smoking in your home.
