Ripe, fresh blueberries are firm and deep in color, ranging from blue to dark garnet to almost purplish black. Blueberries are covered with a powdery, waxy protective film. The berries are translucent inside with tiny seeds.

These small berries are an excellent source of flavonoids, anthocyanidins are especially valuable – antioxidants that have an anti-inflammatory effect and maintain the elasticity of capillary walls.
