Avocado: a mine of benefits on the plate

Health benefits

Rich in fatty acids, avocado provides “good fats”, and it is a concentrate of well-being thanks to its contributions in vitamins (B9, E) and minerals (copper, magnesium). An ally for eating well!

Did you know ? To make it ripen faster, place the avocados next to apples or bananas. You can also wrap them in newspaper. Magical !

Pro tips

Choose it well : if the avocado is soft at the level of the peduncle, it means that it is ready to be tasted.

To keep it, we keep it at room temperature 4-5 days, to let it ripen and we put it in the fridge, 2 to 3 days, if it is already ripe. To keep half an avocado cut, keep the part with the pit, sprinkle it with lemon juice to prevent it from darkening, wrap it in cling film and hop in the fridge.

To make it easier to peel, we can roll it a little in the hands beforehand.

As soon as it is cut, we sprinkle it generously with lemon juice, again to prevent the flesh from blackening.

Magical associations

Accompanied by a drizzle of olive oil and a little salt, the avocado invites itself in all salads. It can also be eaten alone, enhanced with aromatic herbs such as coriander or chives.

Crushed, it turns into guacamole with spices (curry, chili…), to soak vegetables or tortillas. And, it can replace butter in a sandwich for example.

In a chocolate mousse. Yes, the avocado is a wonderful substitute for eggs, giving texture, in a chocolate mousse! Bluffing effect.

In vitamin cream. Also original is the recipe spotted on the Cooking for my baby.com site, mix avocado with a banana and squeeze a clementine for an astonishing dessert that will appeal to children from 8 months old. And also to the older ones!
