A successful birthday party

The first candle of your little one and his next birthdays are now accompanied by their procession of parties and “homemade” cakes, which your little apprentice pastry chef has put his hand to the paw!

Come on, forget about Pitchoun’s nutritional balance. Today is the party: it’s his party! And as in front of the large table of sweets that you will have made, the little ones will be so excited by the party, rest assured, they will peck more than they will eat… Moreover, there are hardly any adults who will remember the scent of the cake!

Tips and Tricks for an unforgettable birthday party!

 Bake all the cakes in a fun shaped mold (teddy bear, heart …) and place small candies (like Smarties or minins M & M’S) to make eyes, nose, mouth …

 Think each treat in mini-format : mini-pastries, mini-sandwiches, mini-vegetables, mini-fruits, they love it.

 La colored marzipan is always very successful: especially presented in funny shapes: little pig, frog, little heart …

 To multicolored glasses : add a drop of syrup to the water in the ice cubes.

 From 2/3 years old, they love to invite their friends for their birthday party … Suggest that your little one do the invitation himself all you need to do is photocopy or better, print on a color printer. Six to eight little guests is a bearable number for a single mom (if not, enlist the help of a “volunteer” mom). And plan for example a puppet show imagined by the dads or an angling party (game sold “ready-made” in toy stores)

Themed birthday snacks, it works ! From 2 years old, the little ones willingly disguise themselves: animals, the forest, fruits, the circus are all themes to find inspiration … You can even bake the birthday cake according to the chosen theme (a big chocolate bear, an apple-shaped hazelnut cake, a “clown’s head” pie …)

“Grand chef version” chocolate icing : either you cheat by buying a ready-made icing, or you melt 100 g of good dark chocolate (70% cocoa minimum) with 1 tsp. of milk and 50 g of butter and, when the mixture is well melted, you spread it with a spatula on the completely cooled cake.

To write on the cake : cut a sheet of Canson type paper according to the shape of the cake, write or draw whatever you want, cut out the inside of the letters or drawings with a cutter, place the sheet of paper on the cake and sprinkle with sugar ice cream or multicolored sprinkles, gently remove the paper… Guaranteed result!
