An underestimated weed: what is gout and what it is eaten with

A little about the title. In Latin, gout is referred to as Aegopodium podagraria, the first word is translated as “goat’s foot” (as Carl Linnaeus called it because of the outward resemblance of the grass to the imprint of a goat’s hoof), and the second – as “foot trap”, since the herb has a beneficial effect on pain in the legs. In Russian, “snyt” is, according to some sources, a modified word “food”, which means “food”. This grass was eaten in Rus’ after the winter, when grain supplies ran out. They salted the gout, fermented it, cooked soups with it and dried it.

For several years, St. Seraphim of Sarov ate snoot, about which he spoke only shortly before his death. When the priest lived as a hermit in the wilderness of a forest on a hill near the Sarovka River, he collected gout, put it in a pot, filled it with water and put it in the oven. As he himself said, the food came out glorious.

What is the use of sleep?

Probably everyone has heard about the benefits of nettle, from which soups, salads and more are made. So sleep is no less useful “weed”! The nutritional properties of goutweed are due to its chemical composition. It can be eaten for a sufficiently long time without fear of an overdose, which can happen after a long use of another medicinal herb. This is because the chemical composition of goutweed is as close as possible to the formula of human blood.

Despite the fact that all sources indicate only the benefits of goutweed and talk about the impossibility of an overdose, you should take it with caution during pregnancy, lactation, during poisoning and with an individual tendency to allergies.

If you have a juicer, the problem of obtaining freshly squeezed juice from goutweed has been successfully solved. If not, you can use a meat grinder and squeeze the juice through cheesecloth. Recipes from dreamweed

Immediately make a reservation that gout grows almost everywhere. It can be found even near roads, but it is better to collect grass away from them. Go for sleepweed in the forest (like Seraphim of Sarov) and collect young green plants, not overgrown ones.

Sleep for bowel cleansing

Squeeze juice from young leaves and shoots. Take juice for 3 days according to the scheme: 1st day – 1 tbsp. half an hour before meals, 2nd day – 2 tablespoons, 3rd day – 3 tablespoons. Then take a 5-day break and repeat as needed. Monitor your condition carefully.

Sleep with kidney disease

In a thermos, pour 2 tbsp. take a glass of boiling water. Infuse for 1 hour and take ¼ cup 4 times a day.

Decoction bath to snoot

Pour about 40 g of crushed rhizomes of goutweed with 1 liter of water and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes. Take a bath with decoction for about 15-20 minutes.

Salad of goutweed and sorrel

Ingredients:

2 cups goutweed leaves 1 cup sorrel 1 cup boiled potatoes 1 cup boiled carrots Salt, pepper – to taste Hot tomato sauce – to taste 2-3 tbsp. olive oil

Recipe:

Cut the gout and sorrel. In a bowl, mix together the diced potatoes, carrots, gout and sorrel. Salt, pepper, add olive oil and stir. Serve with tomato sauce.

Green cabbage soup with gout

Ingredients:

5 cups goutweed leaves 1,5 liters of water or vegetable stock 1 onion 1 carrot 1 tbsp. vegetable oil 2-3 bay leaves 2 potatoes Salt, pepper – to taste

Recipe:

Rinse the gout, put it in a saucepan and cover with water. Peel potatoes and cut into cubes. Put the pot on the fire, add the potatoes, bring to a boil and reduce the heat to medium, add the parsley. Meanwhile, fry chopped onions and carrots in vegetable oil until the onions are golden. When the potatoes are ready, add the fried potatoes to the pan, salt and pepper and cook for another 5 minutes. Serve sprinkled with herbs.

Caviar from dreamweed

Ingredients:

500 g goutweed 2 tbsp. fine sea salt

Recipe:

Rinse the goat, dry, finely chop or chop with a blender. Mix with salt and tightly fill the jar with the mixture so that the juice comes out of the goutweed. Store caviar in the refrigerator, use for soups or hot dishes.
