4-5 years old: “I did it!”

From the age of 4 or 5, manual activities can be longer and require more dexterity. The child is more and more sensitive to the aesthetics of his work, of which he is proud. So we support him in his progress, by offering him adapted activities!

Colorful sand tables. At a hobby store, buy sand in different colors. Ask the child to draw a picture on a sheet. Pass a stick of glue on the surface of the drawing, proceeding in stages corresponding to the different colors chosen (eg: we glue first the surface of the blue, then that of the red). Then the child pours the colored sand surface by surface.

Guaranteed success. The molding and decoration of plaster objects: a jewelry box, a mirror, a frame… Here again, there are many kits that bring together all the necessary material. Creations in corn flakes. By moistening these pre-glued flakes, we can build houses, figurines by simple assembly.

Painting on fabric. Special paint, a simple white T-shirt, and he’s ready to play the little stylists! He will be proud to wear his personalized T-shirt at school. Leave to dry for several days, then you can machine wash it without any problem. And also… The ‘crazy plastic’. A funny material on which children make the drawing of their choice, in colors. Then we harden (and shrink) in the microwave. We can thus create key chains, pendants, jewelry.

Making soap: it’s quick and easy .Express recipe: – glycerin soap in bar, – food coloring, – perfume (cosmetic or food), – mini-petit-fours molds (or get those from a salt dough kit for example). the soap in small cubes, place them in a bowl and melt for 1 minute in the microwave. Add a few drops of perfume and dye. Pour into the mini-molds. Let cool and unmold. You can also add a small decoration before pouring the liquid soap (twig, piece of pine cone?) To decorate the soap. And for the older ones… That’s it, we can tackle more complex activities such as pottery (with or without a potter’s wheel), the first pyrography workshops, small looms, the creation of Brazilian bracelets. Everything (or almost) is now allowed!
