What is really in a protein bar?

Bright packaging, light weight and size, affordability – these are, perhaps, all the indisputable advantages of protein bars. If a healthy body is an important goal, you should pay attention not only to physical activity, proper nutrition and detoxification of the body, but also to the composition of what we are persistently advised to include in the diet.

Few people read the small letters of the composition of the product, but if you read it once, next time, the protein bar may remain on the shelf. Comparing Snickers and a protein bar, we can say that the bar has a lower calorie content, with a higher amount of protein in the composition. Fats and carbohydrates are less. However, it is still not a natural product. There are too many incomprehensible, and sometimes even frightening, terms contained in a small bar. Chemicals, ingredients of clearly unnatural origin, as well as sugars and fats.

Of course, water, egg white, nuts fried without butter, chicory, oatmeal and natural cocoa powder will bring nothing but benefits and energy. But, unfortunately, their share in the total number of constituent parts is too small to be able to close our eyes to other ingredients.

 

The weirdness of protein bars

Everyone in the school underwent chemistry, but many of the substances and chemical compounds contained in the bars cause confusion. But also completely understandable and familiar, but categorically unhealthy ingredients – corn syrup, palm oil and transgenic fats, refined sweeteners, colors and flavors – look at least out of place in a “healthy” bar.

 

And maybe still have a snack …

Often, a protein bar is the only way out when you need to urgently replenish the body’s energy reserves. But, on sober reflection, you will come to the conclusion that it is more honest to eat a natural chocolate than a bar stuffed with chemistry. Moreover, after training, a carbohydrate window is formed, which allows us to treat ourselves to a tasty treat. It won’t take much time to boil eggs, chicken breast or veal, which are many times healthier, just like low-fat dairy products. The choice is yours!
