The first month of summer traditionally opens the main holiday season. And no wonder – after all, the warm season is best suited for travel.

June is the time when school graduations are held all over our country. Nowhere in the world is this event celebrated as grandiose as in St. Petersburg. On the evening closest to the longest white night in the northern capital, the holiday of graduates “Scarlet Sails” thunders. On this day, concerts are given at city venues, and a performance on the water in the Neva water area. The culmination of the evening is the passage of a ship with scarlet sails – a symbol of youth, love and a happy future.
One of the busiest festivals in Europe, the Festa de San Juan takes place in Portugal every year on the summer solstice. The streets of the city of Porto are filled with parades, processions and performing artists, locals and tourists alike go to the festivities, where they are waiting for concerts, dance parties and even fire jumping. At midnight, festive fireworks thunder, but the festival participants walk all night to meet the dawn.
Music lovers will be pleased with the number of music festivals that take place this month in Europe. Among them, the Danish festival in Roskilde is the largest in the Nordic countries and one of the most diverse in terms of the number of genres presented. Jazz lovers and holders of a Schengen visa for a few days can escape to Switzerland for the Jazz and Blues Festival in Montreux, whose nice feature is a lot of free performances. And in Iceland, one of the most unusual music festivals, Secret Solstice, is held – for three days in the open air among the bewitching Icelandic landscapes, you will listen to the music of modern performers.
Holidays in June 2023
June is full of holidays. On the first day of summer, the whole country celebrates Children’s Day, and a little later – on the 27th – Youth Day. With a difference of a week, Blood Donor Day (June 14) and Medical Worker Day are celebrated. These celebrations are widely celebrated in our country, but are not official days off.
June 12 is the Day of Our Country, in our country it has been held since 1992, traditionally this day is a non-working day. An additional day off in 2023 falls on Monday, June 12.

In the first summer month we will work 21 days. Due to the festive June 12, there will be 9 days off, and from June 10 to 12, three free days fall at once – even if you do not take a vacation this month, you can still guess and arrange a mini-trip.

How to profitably take a vacation in June 2023
It is more profitable to plan a long vacation in those months in which there are the most working days – weekends and holidays are not paid and do not count as vacation pay. June is one of the most profitable months for holidays, it has 21 working days, which means you will lose a little on vacation.
An application for a vacation must be submitted at least two weeks before the intended vacation – so that the accounting department has time to prepare everything you need to calculate your vacation pay. Do not forget that one of the parts of the vacation must be at least two calendar weeks, the rest you have the right to dispose of as you like.
The first month of summer is generally favorable for travel both in terms of weather, and in terms of vacations, and even in terms of the number of tourists: after all, most people go on vacation in July and August. Therefore, choose a direction and feel free to go on a long-awaited vacation.
