Walls, kitchen, even a toilet: 12 photos of a completely black apartment

It looks pretty stylish, but would you want to live in such an interior?

In a black-black city, on a black-black street … This is how many children’s horror stories begin – you immediately remember about them, looking at the photo of a spacious two-room apartment in one of Derbent’s high-rise buildings. It costs almost 5 million rubles, but it is remarkable not for this, but for its non-trivial design. The entire furnishings of the apartment, from the walls to the plumbing, are in black.

The only exceptions are light ceilings, a brownish tint of upholstered furniture and the color of the floor in the bathroom, in the kitchen and in the hallway – it is a little lighter, closer to silver graphite. Knocked out of the general tone and sharply white front door. But for the rest – the eye simply drowns in anthracite color: walls, facades of kitchen furniture and appliances, hoods seem to absorb light. Thank you that the facades are not glossy, otherwise every touch to them would leave distinct traces.

The walls in the kitchen are stylized as dark glossy brick, black is slightly diluted with warm shades of dark brown. In the living room, soft armchairs and sofas are upholstered in fabric, which in bright light gives a rich shade of milk chocolate. But at first glance it also looks black.

Without light and with it

The darkest place in the apartment is the bedroom, predictably. There is perhaps a warm brown wooden floor, it is noticeable if you turn on the bedside light. Everything else is total black.

The combined bathroom also corresponds to the general style. A black toilet, black sink and tiles on the walls, a black backlit touch-sensitive mirror – it looks stylish until you wonder what it is like to wash it all. Indeed, on such surfaces, every drop of water is very noticeable, unless the purest distilled water flows from the tap here. But for the texture and color of the floor, any hostess will say thanks – nothing will be noticeable on it.

It looks, perhaps, even stylish. Monochrome is always elegant, although in recent years, preference is given to more white, the powerful influence of Scandinavian minimalism affects. But will you want to live in eternal twilight, where there is not a single bright detail, and most importantly – endlessly dusting off? Indeed, on dark surfaces, it will be very noticeable, here you will have to clean every day conscientiously. And if you have a pet, then you will not be able to do without a robot vacuum cleaner and daily cleaning of furniture. By the way, the apartment was put up for sale in December last year, and the announcement is still relevant – apparently, there are few people willing.
