The Solidarity Coffee Operation returns

A new edition of the solidarity Café initiative is about to begin, and the dissemination and support of the hospitality industry is once again essential.

This is already the fifth edition of this Solidarity action whose organizer is the international humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger, which works intensely to collaborate and achieve the eradication of hunger and child malnutrition in the world.

Operation Café, is already well known within the hospitality field and once again the call and participation is expected to be massive to help collaborate with the selfless actions of the NGO to help children in need.

In this year’s campaign, we once again have as main collaborators the Spanish Hospitality Federation (Fehr), the Pascual company with Mocay Caffè and the Seur Foundation, as sponsors as happened in the last edition of the solidarity coffee operation in 2015.

Once again, the hotel establishments that so deem it will be able to subscribe to the solidarity event, in which they will once again collaborate with 0,10€ of each coffee sold in the establishment, and thus be able to put that grain of sand in the search for the disappearance of child malnutrition.

The possibility of direct donation is also open, via mobile phone, by sending a SMS with the word CAFE AL 28010 and you will donate € 1,20 directly to the project.

Today was the last day to sign up, but the organizers have extended the deadlines until the hours before the start of the campaign, and you can sign up for one in the following Form that we have linked here.

The public campaign that will see the light in the establishments will begin next March 17, and will last for a month and a half, until April 30.

The effectiveness of Café Solidario

Like all charity action, its result, however small it may be, is an enormous boost in the search for sustainability and in this specific case, the approach of the child population in areas of scarcity, to a decent nutrition.

In the last edition, more than fifty coffee shops signed up for the event (630 establishments) and their inestimable participation and the consequent citizen collaboration yielded an amount of more than € 30.000 in total donation.

With this figure, and the data that the NGO offers in reference to the minimum necessary to provide treatment for each malnourished child (€ 40 on average per individual), it has been possible to pay for medication and food for more than 750 children.

The godfather of this year’s 2016 edition of the solidarity coffee operation is the Comedian from León Leo Harlem, which in the campaign presented to the media, summoned us to consume coffee in the affiliated establishments to help with such a daily and recurring gesture as “daily coffee”.
