The most unusual Guinness World Records

People tend to look for ways to express themselves. Usually a person tries to do what no one before him could do. Jump higher, run faster or throw something farther than others. This human desire is expressed very well in sports: we love to set new records and enjoy watching others do it.

However, the number of sports disciplines is limited, and the number of diverse human talents is infinite. The exit has been found. In 1953, an unusual book was released. It contained world records in various spheres of human life, as well as outstanding natural values. The book was published by order of the Irish brewing company Guinness. That’s why it’s called the Guinness Book of Records. The idea to publish such a book came up with one of the company’s employees, Hugh Beaver. He considered that it would be simply necessary for patrons of beer pubs, during their endless disputes about everything in the world. The idea turned out to be very successful.

Since then, it has become extremely popular. People tend to get on the pages of this book, it practically guarantees fame and popularity. It can be added that the book is published annually, its circulation is huge. Only the Bible, the Koran and Mao Zedong’s quotation book are issued in large numbers. Some of the records that people tried to set were dangerous for their health and could lead to unfortunate consequences. Therefore, the publishers of the Guinness Book of Records stopped registering such achievements.
