The future of fashion: learning how to make clothes from food waste

Many people are concerned about sustainable production, even clothing manufacturers. And now, fashion brands are showing their first successes!

The Swedish brand H&M has presented a new ecological collection Conscious Exclusive spring-summer 2020. We will not go into the style solution (we are a culinary portal), but note that materials made from food products were used in the collection.

For shoes and bags from the new collection, Vegea vegan leather was used, which was made in Italy from waste by-products of the wine industry.

According to H&M representatives, the company also used natural dye from coffee grounds in its collection. Moreover, I did not have to collect coffee grounds, as they say, all over the world, there were enough leftovers from the coffee of our own offices.

This collection is not revolutionary for the brand; last year the company also used other innovative vegan materials in its Conscious Exclusive collection: pineapple leather and orange fabric.

We will remind, earlier we talked about how bottle caps turn into fashionable earrings, as well as how in America they make clothes from milk.
