If our pets could talk, what would they say to us? Can cats really sense their owners’ illnesses? The 35-year-old woman did not pay attention to the signals that her pet was giving. And she regretted it, because he tried to save her life.
Kate King-Scribbens of Minnesota was diagnosed with stage XNUMX breast cancer, and long before that, her cat Auggie had a habit of lying in the exact spot where the tumor was later discovered. Waking up one night in severe pain, Kate decided to examine her breasts. Then the woman found a large bump on the left side and immediately went to the doctor.
After several sessions of chemotherapy and heavy operations, the woman managed to defeat the disease. But now, looking back, she realizes that her cat, whom she once adopted from a shelter, was the first to sense the danger and tried to warn her of the development of the disease for several months.
“He always liked to curl up in my arms, but at some point he began to cling to his left breast, and he did it very persistently. No matter how I tried to shift it to another place, it returned. But until I felt the bump and did a diagnosis, I didn’t understand what he wanted to tell me, ”the pet lover shares.
During treatment, Kate began to look closely at the behavior of her astute pet. While she was undergoing chemotherapy, he continued to cling to her sore spot. It wasn’t until after the operation that Auggie calmed down and stopped clinging to his chest.
“I don’t blame those people who don’t believe me or think I’m a crazy cat lover. But if Auggie ever starts to show increased attention to any part of my body, I will listen to him and go to the doctor, ”says the woman.
Now Kate is doing well, and she has already returned to work. She and her husband Andy have four pets at home: two cats and two dogs, and she is very grateful to all of them for the support she felt during her difficult period of struggle with the disease.
You can have different attitudes to the abilities of our pets and see ordinary coincidences in everything, but after such stories from life it is difficult to deny the fact that sometimes our smaller brothers know and feel more than we think. And in order to better understand what they want to convey to us, we just need to be more attentive. And who knows, maybe someday it will save someone’s life.
