How to choose dog food

The question is really difficult, especially given the huge variety of feeds that are on sale today. And the first question that invariably arises for every novice dog owner: what food is better – dry or wet?

It should be noted that both types have their advantages. Moist is no doubt tastier, and besides, it is much more similar to the natural food of dogs – meat, than crispy balls. But he also has a drawback – a rather high price. Feeding a dog (especially if you have a large breed) with one wet food will be very expensive, so you will have to mix it with porridge, which will have to be boiled almost daily.

Dry food is much more convenient. Firstly, it does not spoil for a long time, so if the dog has not finished his dinner, he can easily wait in the bowl until he gets hungry again. Secondly, the bowl of a dog eating dry food is always clean – no splashes or traces of gravy on the bottom. And, thirdly, dry food is more economical and cheaper.

When choosing food in the store, be sure to pay attention to its composition. Make sure that the feed contains as much meat as possible (usually its percentage is indicated on the packaging) and less grains. Also, do not take food with all kinds of flavor enhancers or dyes.

And, of course, be guided by the taste preferences of your pet. Dogs, like people, like different foods: some like beef, some like chicken, and some like fish. Try food with different flavors and determine which one will appeal to your tailed friend.
