Symptoms of glaucoma
Open angle glaucoma
- Without symptoms for 10 years to 20 years.
- Then, a blurred peripheral view.
- Sometimes eye pain and headaches.
- Blindness, at an advanced stage.
Notes. Usually both eyes are affected.
Narrow-angle glaucoma
- Very strong eye pain.
- Suddenly blurry vision.
- The vision of colored halos around light sources.
- The reddening of the eyes.
- Nausea and vomiting.
Notes. Permanent vision loss can occur within a day of the seizure, which is why it is important to get treatment as quickly as possible. Usually, the crisis only affects one eye.

Congenital glaucoma
- Big eyes, often watery.
- An iris with blurry details.
- Increased sensitivity to light.
